Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a talented Remote Automotive Software Engineer (Embedded Systems) to design, implement, and test embedded software for automotive ECUs. You will work in a distributed, remote-first team focused on high performance and safety standards.

Ideal candidates have 4–6 years of embedded experience in automotive, strong C/C++, and RTOS knowledge, plus familiarity with AUTOSAR or similar architectures and CAN/LIN/Ethernet protocols. This role is fully remote within South Africa.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 4–6 years of professional embedded software experience in automotive context.
• Strong proficiency in C and C++ with RTOS experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and test embedded software for automotive ECUs.
• Work with RTOS and device drivers.
• Follow AUTOSAR or similar architectures and perform unit/integration testing.
