About the Role

Our client, a rapidly expanding enterprise in the services sector, is actively seeking a skilled and resourceful Procurement Specialist to manage its Indirect Categories . This role, based in Soweto, Gauteng , will be instrumental in sourcing and managing a diverse range of indirect goods and services, including IT, marketing, HR services, facilities management, and professional services. The ideal candidate will possess strong negotiation skills, vendor management expertise, and a strategic approach to optimizing spend in non-production areas. This is an excellent opportunity for a procurement professional to contribute to efficiency and cost-effectiveness across the organization. We are looking for an individual who can drive value and build strong supplier relationships for our client. This position requires a keen understanding of the indirect procurement landscape.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the sourcing and procurement process for various indirect categories, ensuring alignment with business needs.
• Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers, conducting due diligence and performance assessments.
• Negotiate contract terms, pricing, and service level agreements (SLAs) with vendors.
• Manage and foster strong, collaborative relationships with key indirect service providers.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders across different departments to understand their procurement requirements and provide expert advice.
• Monitor supplier performance, address any issues, and drive continuous improvement in service delivery.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings, process efficiencies, and value creation within indirect spend.
• Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, ethical guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
• Support the development and implementation of procurement strategies for indirect categories.
• Maintain accurate records of contracts, expenditures, and vendor performance data.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience in procurement, with a strong focus on indirect categories.
• Proven negotiation skills and experience in managing complex service contracts.
• Excellent vendor management and relationship-building capabilities.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Experience with e-procurement tools is a plus.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, enabling strong stakeholder engagement.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Understanding of financial principles related to procurement and budgeting.
• Must be based in or willing to relocate to Soweto, Gauteng .
