Placements24 is seeking an enthusiastic Event and Banqueting Coordinator for a popular Port Elizabeth hotel. The role focuses on planning, organizing, and executing events, conferences, and banquets, with emphasis on client satisfaction and meticulous attention to detail.

Qualifications

• A Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Tourism, Marketing, or a related field.
• Experience in event coordination, banqueting, or hospitality is desirable.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills with prioritization ability.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a client-focused approach.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite and event management software.
• Proactive, able to work independently and in a team.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required by events.
• Keen eye for detail and passion for successful events.
• Familiarity with Port Elizabeth event landscape is a plus.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all aspects of events from inquiry to post-event follow-up.
• Prepare event proposals, quotes, and contracts with accuracy.
• Liaise with clients to understand requirements and ensure satisfaction.
• Coordinate with kitchen, banqueting staff, AV for seamless execution.
• Manage event timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
• Conduct site inspections and client meetings.
• Oversee setup and breakdown per client specs and venue standards.
• Handle on-site event coordination and troubleshoot issues.
• Maintain relationships with clients and suppliers.
• Assist in developing marketing materials and promotions for banquets and events.
