Placements24 in Mossel Bay, Western Cape, is seeking a meticulous HR Generalist to lead payroll and benefits administration. You will ensure accurate payroll processing, manage medical aid and provident fund schemes, and maintain compliance with SA payroll regulations.

You will work closely with management, HR colleagues, and external providers to deliver timely reports, handle employee inquiries, and support compensation policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or National Diploma in Human Resources, Accounting, or a related field.
• 4–6 years of HR experience with strong payroll and benefits administration.
• Experience in Mossel Bay, Western Cape is advantageous.
• Proficiency in VIP or Sage and HRIS systems.
• Solid knowledge of SA payroll regulations (PAYE, UIF, SDL).
• Knowledge of medical aid and provident/pension funds.
• Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Good communication and discretion with sensitive information.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end payroll process for all employees in Mossel Bay, Western Cape.
• Administer all employee benefits programs including medical aid, retirement funds, and leave management.
• Ensure compliance with payroll tax regulations and statutory requirements.
• Reconcile payroll data and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate employee records related to compensation, benefits, and employment history.
• Liaise with external payroll providers, benefit administrators, and auditors.
• Assist with development and communication of compensation and benefits policies.
• Process new hires, terminations, and changes to employee status in the payroll system.
• Provide support and guidance to employees on payroll and benefits queries.
• Prepare regular reports on payroll, benefits, HR metrics.
• Contribute to HR projects and initiatives related to compensation and benefits strategy.
