About the Role

Our client, a rapidly scaling online retailer, is seeking an experienced and strategic Operations Director to lead their e-commerce fulfillment operations in a fully remote capacity. This key leadership role will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of warehousing, inventory management, order processing, and last-mile delivery logistics to ensure exceptional customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in e-commerce fulfillment, supply chain optimization, and managing large, geographically dispersed teams. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive strategies for e-commerce fulfillment operations, focusing on speed, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness.
• Oversee multiple fulfillment centers and distribution networks, ensuring seamless integration and performance.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing, remote team of operations managers and staff.
• Implement and manage advanced warehouse management systems (WMS), order management systems (OMS), and other relevant technologies.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize workflows, reduce errors, and enhance productivity across all fulfillment processes.
• Ensure strict adherence to inventory management best practices, minimizing stockouts and overstock situations.
• Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers and carriers to ensure reliable and cost-efficient delivery services.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as order accuracy, on-time shipping, cost per order, and customer satisfaction, implementing corrective actions as needed.
• Develop and manage the operational budget for e-commerce fulfillment, identifying opportunities for efficiency gains and cost savings.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 9 years of progressive experience in operations and supply chain management, with at least 4 years in a senior leadership role within e-commerce fulfillment.
• Proven track record in scaling fulfillment operations for high-growth online retail businesses.
• Expertise in WMS, OMS, and other e-commerce logistics technologies.
• Strong understanding of inventory management, transportation, and last-mile delivery strategies.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and strategic thinking skills, crucial for remote management.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate geographically dispersed teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
• Experience managing large operational budgets and driving financial performance.
