Placements24 is seeking a proactive Technical Support Specialist for an on-site role in Stellenbosch, Western Cape, ZA. You will provide first-level IT support to users, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and keep IT systems running smoothly to boost productivity.

The ideal candidate has experience in IT helpdesk, strong knowledge of Windows and macOS, familiarity with TCP/IP networks, and good communication skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in a technical support or IT helpdesk role.
• Strong hardware, OS knowledge (Windows, macOS) and common apps.
• Familiarity with TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP networks.
• Excellent troubleshooting and customer service skills.
• On-site work in Stellenbosch required.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-level technical support for hardware, software, and network issues.
• Diagnose and resolve problems via phone, email, or in-person.
• Install, configure, and maintain hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, scanners.
• Manage user accounts: creation, modification, deletion.
• Document issues and resolutions in the IT support system.
• Escalate unresolved issues to senior staff or vendors.
• Conduct regular system checks and maintenance.
• Educate users on IT procedures and best practices.
• Contribute to the IT knowledge base with guides and solutions.
• Ensure compliance with IT policies and security.
