Job summary

Placements24 in Klerksdorp, North West, is seeking an IT Support Specialist to manage our IT infrastructure and provide essential support to staff. You will troubleshoot hardware and software, manage network connectivity, and ensure smooth operation of IT systems.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of IT support experience, proficiency with Windows and macOS, and familiarity with AD, networking and security best practices. Relevant IT certifications are a plus.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in IT support or helpdesk.
• Proficiency with Windows and macOS and common business applications (Microsoft Office).
• Experience with network troubleshooting (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
• Familiarity with Active Directory and server management is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
• Relevant IT certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+ are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide first and second-level technical support for hardware, software, and network issues.
• Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, printers, and peripherals.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity problems, including Wi-Fi and wired connections.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls within the IT environment.
• Respond to IT support requests via ticketing system, email, and phone in a timely manner.
• Develop and maintain IT documentation, including user guides and system configurations.
• Assist with the implementation of new IT projects and system upgrades.
• Perform regular system maintenance and updates to ensure security and performance.
