Placements24 is seeking a Graduate IT Support Technician to join our Mahikeng, North West office. You will provide first-line support to end-users, troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues, and help maintain operating systems and applications.

You will manage user accounts in Active Directory, assist with network tasks, and document solutions. This role offers hands-on learning and a clear career path in IT support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Diploma in IT/CS or related field.
• Foundational knowledge of hardware, OS (Windows/macOS), and common software.
• Basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
• Familiarity with AD and user account management.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
• Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
• Team player with a proactive attitude.
• Relevant IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+) are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-level technical support to end-users via phone, email, and in-person.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues on desktops, laptops, and printers.
• Install, configure, and maintain operating systems and software applications.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights in Active Directory.
• Assist with network setup, troubleshooting, and maintenance tasks.
• Respond to and resolve help desk tickets in a timely manner.
• Document technical solutions and create user guides for common issues.
• Perform regular system maintenance, updates, and security checks.
• Escalate complex issues to senior IT staff when necessary.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of IT support processes and procedures.
