Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Technical Support Technician to join our on-site IT team in Rustenburg, North West. You will diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues while supporting end-users and staff.

The ideal candidate demonstrates strong IT knowledge, excellent troubleshooting, and a proactive approach to maintaining secure, reliable systems in a professional environment. The role offers diverse technologies and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Technical Support Technician or similar IT support role.
Certs like CompTIA A+ or Network+ are highly desirable.
Must be able to work full-time at Rustenburg location.

Responsibilities

Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, and scanners.
Diagnose and resolve technical hardware and software issues, addressing user requests and identifying root causes.
Provide technical support and guidance to end-users, both in person and over the phone/remote access tools.
Manage the setup and support of new user accounts and equipment.
Perform regular maintenance and updates on IT systems to ensure optimal performance and security.
Document all issues, resolutions, and procedures accurately in the IT ticketing system.
Collaborate with the IT team on system upgrades, migrations, and network improvements.
Monitor system performance and identify potential issues before they impact users.
Provide training to end-users on new software or system functionalities as needed.
Ensure compliance with IT policies and security best practices.
