Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled Helpdesk Support Technician to join our Vereeniging team. You will provide first-line IT support to staff, diagnose hardware, software, and network issues, and maintain IT assets.

The ideal candidate holds an A+/N+ certification with at least 2 years in IT support, strong Windows and Office skills, basic TCP/IP/DNS/DHCP knowledge, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• A+ or N+ certification or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in IT helpdesk or technical support.
• Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Familiarity with TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP and basic network troubleshooting.
• Experience with hardware repair and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-level technical support to end-users via phone, email, and in-person.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network connectivity issues.
• Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, and scanners.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
• Escalate complex technical issues to senior IT staff or external vendors when necessary.
• Maintain accurate records of IT assets, support requests, and resolutions in the ticketing system.
• Develop and update IT documentation, including user guides and troubleshooting procedures.
• Assist with IT inventory management and procurement processes.
• Ensure compliance with IT policies and security standards.
• Provide training and guidance to end-users on IT best practices.
