About the Role

Our client, a well-established financial institution, is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Mortgage Originator Specialist to join their team in the picturesque city of Stellenbosch, Western Cape. This role involves guiding clients through the mortgage application process, identifying their financial needs, and offering suitable home loan products. The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills, a strong understanding of mortgage products, and a commitment to providing exceptional service. Key Responsibilities

• Generate new mortgage loan business through various channels, including networking, referrals, and client relationship management.
• Advise prospective borrowers on loan programs and eligibility requirements, explaining terms and conditions clearly.
• Take complete mortgage applications (online, in-person, or via phone) and analyze financial information to determine feasibility.
• Assess borrowers' creditworthiness and ability to repay loans.
• Coordinate with underwriters, processors, and other internal teams to ensure smooth loan processing and closing.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of mortgage lending regulations, policies, and products.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with real estate agents, builders, and other referral sources.

Requirements
