About the Role

Our client, a respected mortgage lender operating in Paarl, Western Cape, is seeking a dedicated Mortgage Origination Specialist to join their growing team. This role is crucial for managing the mortgage application process from initial contact through to closing, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience for clients. The Specialist will be responsible for generating new mortgage leads, assessing client financial needs, and guiding them through the various loan products and application procedures. Key Responsibilities

• Generate new mortgage loan applications through networking, marketing efforts, and client referrals.
• Conduct detailed financial needs assessments with prospective borrowers.
• Educate clients on available mortgage products, interest rates, and loan terms.
• Guide clients through the entire mortgage application process, ensuring all required documentation is collected accurately.
• Analyze borrower financial information to pre-qualify them for loans and determine appropriate loan amounts.
• Liaise with underwriters, appraisers, and other third parties to facilitate loan processing.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, real estate agents, and other referral sources.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant lending regulations and company policies.
• Meet or exceed established loan origination targets.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in mortgage origination, loan brokering, or a similar role within the banking and finance industry.
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales and origination targets.
• Strong understanding of mortgage products, lending policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent sales, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in mortgage origination software and CRM systems.
• Ability to build rapport and trust with clients.
• Detail-oriented and organized, with strong time management skills.
• Knowledge of the local Western Cape property market is a plus.
