About the Role

Our client, a reputable mortgage lending institution, is looking for a driven and results-oriented Mortgage Originator to join their team in Paarl, Western Cape. This sales-focused role is responsible for generating new mortgage loan business by developing relationships with real estate agents, builders, and potential borrowers. The Mortgage Originator will guide clients through the entire mortgage application process, ensuring a smooth and positive experience. Success in this position requires excellent sales skills, a strong understanding of mortgage products, and a commitment to providing outstanding customer service. Key Responsibilities

• Proactively generate leads for mortgage loans through networking, prospecting, and relationship building.
• Meet with potential borrowers to assess their financial needs and eligibility for mortgage products.
• Advise clients on available mortgage options, explaining terms, rates, and fees clearly.
• Guide clients through the mortgage application process, collecting necessary documentation and information.
• Work closely with underwriting, processing, and closing departments to ensure timely loan fulfillment.
• Maintain strong relationships with real estate agents, builders, and other referral sources.
• Stay current with mortgage market trends, product offerings, and regulatory requirements.
• Achieve and exceed monthly and quarterly loan origination targets.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; a Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in mortgage origination, sales, or a related financial services role.
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals.
• Strong knowledge of mortgage products, lending guidelines, and the mortgage application process.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in mortgage origination software and CRM systems.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.Must possess relevant licenses or be willing to obtain them as required by regulations.
