Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a motivated Mortgage Originator to join their lending team in Richards Bay. You will cultivate relationships with potential borrowers, assess home financing needs, and guide applicants through the mortgage process.

The ideal candidate excels in communication, organization, and knowledge of mortgage products and lending guidelines, focusing on delivering smooth, efficient applications and closings while building a strong client base.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; a Bachelor's degree in Finance or a related field is advantageous.
• Proven experience in mortgage origination or a related sales role within financial services.
• Strong knowledge of mortgage products, lending policies, and regulatory requirements (e.g., NMLS).
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and sales skills.
• Ability to manage a pipeline of clients and meet performance targets.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Actively seek out and develop new mortgage lending opportunities through networking, referrals, and marketing efforts.
• Conduct thorough needs assessments with prospective borrowers to understand their financial situations and home financing requirements.
• Educate clients on various mortgage products, rates, and terms, recommending the best fit for their needs.
• Guide borrowers through the entire mortgage application process, ensuring all necessary documentation is collected accurately and efficiently.
• Liaise with underwriters, processors, and closing agents to ensure timely loan approvals and closings.
• Maintain compliance with all federal and state lending regulations and company policies.
