Job summary

Placements24 seeks a proactive Mining Engineer in Randburg to develop and optimize short- and long-term mine plans ensuring safe, efficient extraction. You will work with operations, geology and survey teams to integrate data and deliver comprehensive designs and schedules.

Utilize Deswik, Vulcan or MineSight for design and simulation, perform geotechnical assessments, and contribute to feasibility studies and production planning with a collaborative, hybrid-work environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mining Engineering.
• Experience in mine planning and design.
• Proficiency with Deswik, Vulcan and MineSight.
• Strong geotechnical, rock mechanics, and ventilation knowledge.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop and update detailed mine plans, including pit designs, stope layouts, and production schedules.
• Perform geotechnical analysis and advise on ground support requirements for safe mining operations.
• Conduct mine feasibility studies and economic evaluations for new projects or expansions.
• Use Deswik, Vulcan, MineSight for design and simulation.
• Collaborate with operations to ensure effective plan implementation.
• Monitor performance and adjust plans as needed.
