Job summary

A financial services firm in Somerset West seeks a Management Accountant to blend accounting skills with technology. You will be responsible for management reporting, reconciliations, and compliance while enhancing client use of Xero and associated applications. Ideal candidates will have a degree in Accounting/Finance or 5+ years of management accounting experience. Knowledge of VAT and an interest in automation and AI are advantageous. This role offers a salary of R30K - R40K CTC p.m.

Management Accountant

Area: Somerset West

Salary: R30K -R40K CTC p.m. (depending on experience)

My client is looking for a Management Accountant to join their growing team at their financial services company in Somerset West.

The role blends solid accounting skills with a passion for technology and efficiency. You’ll be responsible for management reporting, reconciliations, and compliance while supporting clients with better use of Xero and app integrations (Cin7 Core, Approvalmax, Dext, Reach Reporting etc).

Key Performance Indicators
  • Financial Accuracy: Maintain up-to-date financial records with minimal errors.
  • Timely Reporting: Ensure the timely preparation and delivery of financial reports to clients.
  • Process Efficiency: Implement financial process improvements to enhance accuracy and timeliness.
  • Client Satisfaction: Provide proactive financial insights and high-level customer service.
  • Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure adherence to financial regulations and taxcompliance.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management
  • Maintain accurate accounting records and reconciliations across multiple clients.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, cash flows, and VAT returns.
  • Support year-end financial statement preparation.
Client Service
  • Deliver clear and timely financial reports to clients.
  • Be a go-to point for answering client finance queries.
  • Support clients in manufacturing sectors, especially with inventory, costing, and reporting.
Systems & Tech
  • Assist with setting up and optimising various apps that integrates with Xero.
  • Use add-ons (Reach Reporting, Dext, ApprovalMax, etc.) to improve efficiency andreporting.
  • Be open to exploring AI and ChatGPT tools to automate routine work and add value.
Process & Compliance
  • Ensure SARS submissions (VAT, PAYE, EMP501) are accurate and on time.
  • Maintain proper records for audit readiness.
  • Identify process improvements to save time and reduce errors.
Team Collaboration
  • Work closely with other team members and share knowledge on Xero and app integrations.
  • Provide input on projects and support juniors when needed.
Key Requirements
  • Degree/diploma in Accounting or Finance; OR 5+ years’ experience in managementaccounting role.
  • Strong working knowledge of Xero.
  • Exposure to manufacturing clients and inventory management is an advantage.
  • Experience with Cin7 Core or similar systems will be a benefit (training will be provided).
  • Good understanding of VAT, reconciliations, and payroll basics.
  • Interested in new technology, automation, and AI.
