About the Role

Our client, a significant player in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry, is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Logistics Coordinator to support its distribution operations. This role follows a hybrid work model, allowing for essential office-based coordination and flexible remote work for administrative tasks and planning. Based in Paarl , you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and timely movement of goods from suppliers to warehouses and ultimately to customers. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of logistics processes, excellent organizational skills, and experience in coordinating shipments and managing transportation partners. You will be instrumental in optimizing delivery routes, managing inventory within the distribution network, and ensuring overall operational efficiency within the FMCG supply chain.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate the daily logistics operations, including scheduling deliveries and managing carrier relationships.
• Track shipments, monitor delivery progress, and provide timely updates to relevant stakeholders.
• Manage inventory levels within the distribution centers, ensuring accuracy and minimizing discrepancies.
• Process shipping and receiving documentation, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
• Assist in optimizing transportation routes and modes to reduce costs and improve delivery times.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; a diploma or degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is advantageous.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in logistics coordination, transportation, or supply chain operations, preferably within the FMCG sector.
• Proficiency in logistics software and ERP systems; experience with TMS (Transportation Management Systems) is a plus.
• Strong understanding of logistics processes, inventory management, and freight forwarding.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, managing tasks both in the office and remotely.
