About the Role

Our client, a significant player in the FMCG industry, is seeking a meticulous and organised Logistics Coordinator to join their team in Vereeniging, Gauteng . This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of goods within the supply chain, from suppliers to distribution centres and ultimately to customers. The Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for planning, executing, and monitoring inbound and outbound shipments, optimising routes, managing carrier relationships, and ensuring timely deliveries. A proactive approach to problem-solving and a keen eye for detail are essential for success in this fast-paced environment. This hybrid role allows for collaboration within the Vereeniging office while offering flexibility for remote work on certain tasks and planning.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage all inbound and outbound logistics activities, ensuring efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Plan and schedule transportation routes and loads to meet delivery timelines.
• Liaise with carriers, suppliers, and internal departments to resolve logistical issues promptly.
• Maintain accurate records of shipments, inventory, and delivery status.
• Monitor and track shipments in real-time, providing updates to relevant stakeholders.
• Assist in the management of warehouse operations, ensuring efficient flow of goods.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Minimum of 3 years of experience in logistics coordination or a similar role, preferably within the FMCG sector. Proficiency in logistics software and MS Office Suite, especially Excel. Strong understanding of transportation management systems (TMS) and warehouse management systems (WMS). Excellent organisational and time management skills. Good communication and interpersonal abilities. Problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to challenges. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a hybrid environment. Familiarity with FMCG distribution networks is advantageous.
