Job summary

African Echoes Recruitment is seeking a hands-on Lodge Manager to oversee day-to-day resort operations in Hazyview. You will ensure seamless guest experiences, coordinate reservations, and supervise housekeeping, F&B, and maintenance. Strong leadership and guest-relations skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Previous lodge, resort, hotel or hospitality management experience.
• Assistant Lodge Managers with strong potential may be considered.
• Strong personality, leadership ability and confidence.
• Strong practical maintenance knowledge and experience.
• Good housekeeping management experience.
• Good F&B operational experience.
• Strong reservations knowledge and administration.
• Experience with Booking.com and other online booking platforms.
• Experience working with travel agents and managing agent relationships.
• Excellent guest relations and communication skills.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Good financial and stock-control awareness.
• Professional, hands-on and well presented.
• Computer literate.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure.
• Flexible and willing to assist across all departments when required.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the resort and venue.
• Oversee guest arrivals, departures and overall guest experience.
• Manage reservations, enquiries and online bookings.
• Liaise with travel agents and booking platforms.
• Monitor Booking.com and other relevant channels.
• Oversee housekeeping standards and room inspections.
• Manage F&B operations and service standards.
• Oversee maintenance, repairs and preventative maintenance.
• Identify maintenance issues and ensure they are resolved timeously.
• Manage staff, rosters, performance and daily operational requirements.
• Conduct staff briefings and ensure clear communication.
• Monitor stock, purchasing and departmental requirements.
• Assist with budgeting, cost control and operational administration.
• Coordinate accommodation and venue requirements for functions and events.
• Handle guest complaints and resolve operational challenges professionally.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation, service and safety.
• Work closely with management, suppliers, agents and other stakeholders.
• Be hands-on and assist wherever operationally required.
