Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum 1-2 years' experience in a Front of House role within a 5-star lodge environment
• Hotel Management Diploma or Certificate required
• Knowledge of Lightspeed, Sage Evolution or Protel is advantageous
• MS Office proficiency, especially Excel
• Strong hosting and guest relations skills expected
• Valid driver’s licence preferred

Responsibilities

• Support Lodge or Assistant Manager with daily lodge operations
• Conduct housekeeping checks to maintain standards
• Oversee restaurant readiness and service flow during meals
• Confirm meal standards before dishes leave the kitchen
• Manage guest check-ins/outs and attend to requests
• Respond promptly to guest requests for services and supplies
• Liaise with senior management on issues and improvement ideas
• Assist with stock counts and reporting

Job description

Working closely with the Lodge Manager, you will be the guest's key point of contact throughout their stay- ensuring every touchpoint, from check-in to departure, reflects the property's five-star standards. This role suits someone who thrives on anticipating guest needs and enjoys a hands-on, detail-driven hospitality environment.

Core Criteria:

• Minimum 1-2 years' experience in a Front of House or similar role within a 5-star lodge environment
• Hotel Management Diploma or Certificate (or equivalent) required
• Working knowledge of Lightspeed, Sage Evolution and Protel systems advantageous
• Intermediate-level MS Office proficiency, particularly Excel
• Sound understanding of Food & Beverage service, Housekeeping, and Front Office operations
• Strong hosting and guest relations skills, with a natural, welcoming manner
• Well-spoken, presentable, and customer-focused
• Excellent eye for detail and sound common sense
• Valid driver's licence preferred
• Collaborative team player who contributes to overall lodge success

Core Responsibilities:

• Support the Lodge or Assistant Manager with daily lodge operations

• Oversee restaurant readiness and service flow during meal times, supporting the service team
• Confirm meal standards before dishes leave the kitchen
• Manage guest check-ins and check-outs, attending to requests throughout their stay
• Respond promptly to guest requests for additional services and supplies
• Liaise with senior lodge management on anomalies, variances, and improvement ideas
• Assist with stock counts and weekly/monthly reporting
