Mount Nelson, A Belmond Hotel in Cape Town is seeking a Training & Engagement Officer to design and deliver impactful training programs and foster a vibrant culture of continuous learning across all departments. You will lead the development of materials, manage the LMS, and coordinate engaging activities that boost morale and knowledge sharing.

The role emphasizes facilitating engaging training, promoting best practices in learning and development, and enhancing communication across teams.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in facilitating training in an engaging manner.
• Knowledge of learning & development best practices and trends.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organising and leadership skills.
• Experience with administration of a learning management system is advantageous.
• MS Excel and MS PowerPoint to at least an Intermediate level.

Responsibilities

• Support the Learning & Development Manager in the design and development of training programs, including creating training materials, manuals, and visual aids.
• Deliver engaging and effective training sessions for various departments, covering topics such as service standards, operational procedures, and compliance.
• Coordinate and schedule training sessions, ensuring adequate resources and facilities are available.
• Administer and manage the hotel's Learning Management System (LMS).
• Provide support and guidance to department trainers to ensure consistent training delivery.
• Promote a culture of learning and development within the business, celebrate employees who complete training programs, earn certifications, or demonstrate significant skill development.
• Develop and implement initiatives that foster a positive and engaging work environment across all hotel departments, including team-building activities and social events.
• Manage all internal communication channels to keep employees informed and connected.
• Coordinate the weekly HR newsletter, including L&D activities, on-the-job trainings/activities and social events.
• Assist with other HR-related tasks and projects as needed.
