Placements24 is seeking a Junior IT Support Technician to join its Soweto team. This entry-level role focuses on delivering first-line technical help for hardware, software, and user accounts, while learning from the IT department.

You will work with Windows/macOS, assist with devices, document issues, and contribute to IT operations. A diploma or IT cert and strong communication are preferred, with on-the-job training and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent; IT certification (e.g., CompTIA A+) or associate's degree is a plus.
• Basic understanding of computer hardware, OS (Windows/macOS) and software applications.
• Familiarity with TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP concepts and basic networking.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-level technical support to end-users for hardware, software, and network issues.
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot desktop PCs, laptops, printers, and mobile devices.
• Set up and maintain user accounts and access permissions.
• Perform basic network troubleshooting and IT asset management.
• Document issues and resolutions in the helpdesk system.
• Escalate complex issues to senior IT staff as needed.
