Job summary

Placements24 is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join their IT department in Soweto as Apprentice IT Support Technicians. The apprenticeship offers hands-on experience in providing technical support to end-users, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and maintaining IT infrastructure.

You will learn to manage help desk tickets, assist with network administration, and support various computer systems and applications.

Qualifications

Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification.
Interest in information technology and customer support.
Basic understanding of computer hardware, operating systems (Windows/macOS), and common software applications.
Good communication and interpersonal skills, with patience and a helpful attitude.
Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and IT challenges.

Responsibilities

Provide first-level technical support to users via phone, email, and in person.
Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, systems, networks, and printers.
Troubleshoot and resolve IT-related incidents and problems, escalating complex issues when necessary.
Assist in managing user accounts, permissions, and access rights within the IT environment.
Document IT procedures, support guides, and maintain an inventory of IT assets.
