Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Industrial Engineer in Paarl, Western Cape to focus on operations efficiency and workflow design. The role analyzes and re-engineers production processes to maximize productivity and minimize waste, using Lean methods and simulation tools.

You will map processes, design layouts, perform time studies, and develop SOPs while collaborating with production teams to implement changes and meet KPIs. A hybrid work arrangement is offered in Paarl, Western Cape.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of industrial engineering experience focusing on operations efficiency and workflow design.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and tools.
• Proficiency in process mapping, workflow analysis, and familiarity with simulation software is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to interpret complex data.

Responsibilities

• Analyze production processes to identify efficiency improvements.
• Design optimized production layouts and material flow systems.
• Apply Lean tools (Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Kaizen) to reduce waste.
• Conduct time studies to optimize labor utilization.
• Develop SOPs and work instructions.
• Collaborate with teams to implement process changes and drive adoption.
• Collect and report KPIs related to efficiency and productivity.
• Identify opportunities for automation or technology adoption to improve workflow.
• Support business cases for process improvement projects.
