Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Industrial Engineer focused on operations improvement to join a manufacturing team in Klerksdorp, North West. The role combines on-site collaboration with production teams and remote data analysis to drive productivity, reduce costs, and enhance processes.

You will analyze processes, apply lean and Six Sigma, design layouts, run simulations, track KPIs, and prepare management reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in industrial engineering with improvements in a manufacturing setting.
• Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing concepts (Kaizen, 5S, Value Stream Mapping) and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Proficiency in data analysis, SPC, and process simulation software.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
• Strong project management and cross-department communication.
• Experience with CAD for layout design is beneficial.
• Ability to work independently and in a hybrid work environment.

Responsibilities

• Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for efficiency gains and cost reduction.
• Develop and implement process improvements using lean manufacturing and Six Sigma.
• Design and optimize factory layouts, material flow, and workstation ergonomics.
• Use simulation software and data analysis tools to model and validate proposed changes.
• Develop and track KPIs to measure effectiveness of improvements.
• Create and maintain SOPs for optimized processes.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to ensure successful implementation.
• Conduct time and motion studies to establish performance standards.
• Prepare reports and present findings to management.
