Placements24 is seeking a dedicated HR Generalist for our client in George, Western Cape. The role offers a hybrid work model with in-office collaboration and remote flexibility.

You will support a broad range of HR functions, partner with employees and management, and help implement HR policies to foster a positive, productive work environment. The ideal candidate holds an HR-related degree, 3–5 years of HR Generalist experience, and strong communication skills.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the recruitment and onboarding process, including job posting, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and conducting new hire orientations.
• Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other statutory benefits.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in the HR information system (HRIS).
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures, and benefits.
• Support the implementation of performance management processes and assist with performance appraisal cycles.
• Assist with the development and delivery of HR training programs.
• Contribute to the resolution of employee relations issues, ensuring fair and consistent application of policies.
• Help maintain compliance with labor laws and company policies.
• Participate in HR projects and initiatives as assigned.
• Organize and manage HR documentation and filing systems.

Requirements

• A National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, or a related field.
• A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in an HR Generalist or similar role.
• Solid understanding of core HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, employee relations, and performance management.
• Familiarity with South African labor law and best HR practices.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite and experience with HRIS software.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a hybrid work environment.
• Discretion and the ability to handle confidential information with professionalism.
