Placements24 in Mbombela (Nelspruit) seeks an Electrical Power Systems Analyst for a hybrid role. You will analyze grids, model networks and optimize power flow for clients, applying ETAP, PSS/E, PSCAD or DIgSILENT PowerFactory. A strong background in power systems and grid codes is essential.

The role requires a Master’s in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems) and 6+ years of experience, with a focus on reliability and renewables integration. Pr. Eng. status is a plus.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with a power systems focus.
• Minimum 6 years' experience in power system analysis and simulations.
• Expertise with ETAP, PSS/E, PSCAD or DIgSILENT PowerFactory required.
• Strong grid knowledge and ability to work with renewable integrations is desirable.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform power flow, short-circuit, stability and harmonic analyses using industry tools.
• Model and assess transmission and distribution networks for clients.
• Evaluate impacts of new generation sources on grid performance.
• Develop grid upgrade recommendations and protection settings.
• Prepare comprehensive technical reports outlining findings and solutions.
• Collaborate with clients and engineering teams to define scope and requirements.
• Stay abreast of new power system methods and technologies.
• Contribute to development and maintenance of analysis tools and methods.
