Placements24 is seeking a Senior Power Systems Analyst for our client in Bloemfontein, SA. You will perform in-depth power system studies, assess renewable integration, and develop mitigation strategies using PSS/E, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, or PowerWorld.

Ideal candidates hold MSc/PhD in Power Systems with 7+ years’ experience, strong analytical and communication skills, and PE registration with ECSA is a major advantage.

Formación

• Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Systems.
• 7+ years of power system analysis and simulation experience.
• Expertise in PSS/E, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PowerWorld or similar tools.
• Strong understanding of dynamics, stability, protection, and control.
• Experience with renewable energy integration studies is highly desirable.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
• Pr. Eng. registration with ECSA is an advantage.

Responsabilidades

• Conduct comprehensive power system studies, including load flow, fault analysis, transient stability, and short-circuit analysis.
• Analyze the impact of renewable energy integration on grid stability and reliability.
• Develop and validate power system models using industry-standard software.
• Perform dynamic simulations to assess system response to disturbances and recommend control strategies.
• Contribute to the design and optimization of power system protection schemes.
• Evaluate system performance and identify potential constraints or areas for improvement.
• Collaborate with design engineers, project managers, and utility operators to ensure study results are implemented.
• Prepare detailed technical reports and presentations of analysis findings.
• Stay abreast of new technologies, methodologies, and best practices in power system analysis and grid integration.
• Provide expert technical advice on power system planning and operational issues.
