Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Electrical Engineer in Mahikeng to join the power systems team. You will analyze grid performance, stability, and reliability using advanced simulation tools and model complex networks for planning and operations.

This hybrid role requires on-site data collection and site visits while enabling focused analytical work remotely. The ideal candidate has six+ years in power systems, strong analytical skills, and proficiency with PSS/E, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, or ETAP.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering with power systems focus.
• Minimum of 6 years experience in power systems analysis and simulation.
• Proficient with grid analysis software (PSS/E, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, ETAP).

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed power system studies including load flow, short-circuit, transient stability, and contingency analysis.
• Develop and maintain accurate power system models using industry-standard software.
• Analyze the impact of new generation, transmission, and distribution projects on grid performance.
• Identify potential network issues and recommend mitigation strategies to enhance reliability and security.
• Collaborate with planning and operations teams to implement study recommendations.
• Stay current with advancements in power system technology and analysis techniques.
