This hybrid role combines remote analytical work on complex simulations with essential on-site collaboration with grid operations and planning teams in Polokwane. Candidates should have 6+ years of experience and familiarity with SA grid codes.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Systems.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in power system analysis and planning.
• Proficiency with grid simulation software (PSS/E, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, ETAP).
• Strong knowledge of power system theory, stability, and protection.

Responsibilities

• Perform power system analysis, including load flow, short circuit, transient stability, and contingency studies using specialized software.
• Develop and maintain power system models for planning and operational purposes.
• Analyze grid performance data and identify areas for improvement and reinforcement.
• Support the planning and design of new transmission and distribution infrastructure.
• Assess the impact of renewable energy integration and new load connections on grid stability.
• Prepare technical reports and present findings to management and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with operational teams to address grid disturbances and provide analytical support.
• Stay current with power system technologies and analytical methodologies.
