Placements24 seeks a meticulous Logistics Coordinator in Durban for a hybrid role combining on-site coordination at the port and remote administrative tasks. You will manage inbound/outbound shipments, liaise with carriers and brokers, and resolve delays or discrepancies while maintaining precise records.

Ideal candidates have 2–3 years in logistics, strong knowledge of Incoterms, and proficiency in MS Office.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience in logistics, supply chain or related field.
• Knowledge of shipping procedures, documentation, and international trade terms (Incoterms).
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Clear communication and interpersonal skills.
• Problem-solving ability under pressure.
• Detail-oriented with focus on accuracy.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team.
• Knowledge of customs clearance is advantageous.
• A relevant qualification in Logistics or Supply Chain Management is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage the movement of goods from origin to destination.
• Track shipments and provide timely updates to clients and internal teams.
• Prepare and process shipping documentation, including bills of lading, customs declarations, and invoices.
• Liaise with shipping lines, airlines, trucking companies, and customs agents to ensure smooth transit.
• Resolve logistical issues promptly and effectively.
• Maintain accurate records of shipments and documentation.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate warehousing and distribution as needed.
• Assist in negotiating freight rates and service agreements with carriers.
• Ensure compliance with international and local trade regulations.
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives within the logistics department.
