Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in logistics coordination, freight forwarding, or a similar role.
• Solid understanding of shipping procedures, incoterms, and international trade regulations.
• Proficiency in using logistics management software and MS Office Suite.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities.
• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in documentation and data entry.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
• Experience with customs clearance procedures is highly desirable.
• A degree or diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is advantageous.
• Familiarity with Durban port operations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the planning and execution of domestic and international shipments.
• Liaise with shipping lines, airlines, hauliers, and customs brokers to arrange transportation and ensure timely delivery.
• Prepare and process all necessary shipping documentation, including bills of lading, customs declarations, and invoices.
• Track shipments in real-time and provide updates to clients and internal stakeholders.
• Manage freight costs and negotiate rates with service providers.
• Resolve any logistical issues or delays that may arise during transit.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant international trade regulations and customs requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of all shipments and associated documentation in the logistics management system.
• Collaborate with sales and operations teams to meet client requirements and service level agreements.
• Assist in the development and implementation of process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
