Placements24 is seeking a diligent HR Officer to support operations in and around Kimberley, Northern Cape. You will manage recruitment and onboarding, employee relations, performance support, payroll liaison, and ensure compliance with SA labour laws.

The role requires 2–3 years in a generalist HR function, a relevant HR qualification, strong organisational skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of generalist HR experience.
• Qualification in Human Resources Management or Industrial Psychology.
• Strong knowledge of South African labour law (BCEA, LRA, EEA, SDA).
• Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
• Proficiency in HRIS and Microsoft Office.
• Confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive information.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Hospitality sector experience is advantageous.
• Must have the legal right to work in South Africa and be based in or willing to commute to Kimberley.

About the Role

Our client, a well-established hospitality group with multiple properties, is seeking a diligent and proactive Human Resources Officer to support their operations in and around Kimberley, Northern Cape . This role will involve managing a range of HR functions, including recruitment and onboarding, employee relations, performance management support, payroll administration liaison, and ensuring compliance with labour laws. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, a keen understanding of HR best practices, and the ability to foster positive employee relations within the organization. You will be a key contributor to the HR function in Kimberley , supporting the company's most valuable asset: its people.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the recruitment and selection process, including posting vacancies, screening CVs, and scheduling interviews.
• Manage the onboarding process for new employees, ensuring all documentation is completed accurately.
• Support line managers with employee relations issues, disciplinary processes, and conflict resolution.
• Maintain employee records and ensure the HR database is up-to-date.
• Assist with the administration of employee benefits and payroll processing.
• Ensure compliance with South African labour laws and company HR policies.
• Support performance management processes and employee development initiatives.
• Organize and facilitate HR training sessions.
• Handle employee queries and provide guidance on HR-related matters.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of HR strategies.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a generalist HR role.
• A relevant qualification in Human Resources Management or Industrial Psychology is required.

• Proficiency in HR Information Systems (HRIS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
