Job summary

Teraco Data Environments in Gauteng is seeking a junior commercial sales professional to take ownership of a portfolio of smaller enterprise clients with less complex needs. The role focuses on responsive account management, retention, and identifying growth opportunities through phone, email, and online engagement.

You will support renewals, coordinate quotations, and contribute to a structured development path toward an Account Manager role based on performance.

Qualifications

• Matric (mandatory).
• A relevant diploma, degree or industry certification is advantageous; equivalent practical experience will be considered.
• Relevant experience in a customer-facing, commercial, technical support or coordination role is desirable.
• Direct sales experience is welcome but is not essential.
• CRM exposure and an understanding of cloud, connectivity or data centres are advantageous; willingness and ability to learn are essential.

Responsibilities

• Portfolio ownership. Manage the day-to-day commercial relationship for allocated clients. Maintain current contacts, understand each client’s deployment and needs, and agree a practical contact and follow-up cadence.
• Client retention and renewals. Track contract expiry dates and notice periods, initiate renewal discussions in good time, prepare accurate documentation and coordinate approvals and signatures.
• Proactive selling. Look for additional requirements within the portfolio and pursue suitable smaller new-business opportunities assigned or agreed with the manager.
• Sales delivery. Work towards an agreed sales target appropriate to the portfolio and junior level.
• Team support. Assist with selected renewals and cancellations for other team members, as allocated by the manager.
• Cancellation coordination. Clarify the reason for cancellation, explore retention options and coordinate changes with internal teams.
• Commercial administration. Prepare and check quotations, proposals, service orders and supporting records.
• Internal collaboration. Coordinate with Solutions, Sales Operations, Finance, Legal, Operations and Customer Experience to resolve queries and progress requests.
