Job summary

Cashbuild Limited is seeking a General Assistant to provide front-line customer service in-store, assist with merchandising, price labelling, and housekeeping within the designated area. The role focuses on helping customers, maintaining layout integrity, and ensuring shelves are stocked and labelled correctly, while upholding OHSA safety standards and store procedures.

Qualifications

• Grade 10/NQF 3 with 1 year related experience or Grade 12 with no related work experience.
• Ability to communicate in English and the dominant language spoken in the area.
• Valid South African ID or work permit.
• Ability to perform basic calculations accurately.
• Willing to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
• Must be able to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Advise and assist Customers on correct products and queries.
• Assist with and resolve Customer complaints.
• Bulk stock area to be merchandised safely and according to Store layout plan.
• Must ensure your area of responsibility is fully merchandised according to Store layout and planograms.
• Ensure area is free of obstacles and stock is merchandised immediately after delivery.
• Correct shelf price labelling within area of responsibility.
• Complete the required checklist when on duty with Canteen and Shower schedules.
• Maintain safety standards in line with OHSA within area of responsibility.
• Report discrepancies and damaged stock to Store Manager.

Education

Minimum Grade 10 or NQF 3 with 1 year related experience
