Job summary

Kontak Recruitment seeks an Assistant to the Operations Manager in Johannesburg to coordinate the administration and readiness of the company’s truck fleet. You will monitor licences, services, tyres, fines and loading while liaising with drivers and providing timely reports and updates.

The successful candidate will have Matric or equivalent and experience in fleet administration or transport coordination, with strong Excel skills and the ability to work independently under pressure.

Qualifications

• Matric or equivalent qualification is required.
• Experience in fleet administration, transport coordination or operations is advantageous.
• Proficiency with Excel and fleet-management systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist Operations Manager with daily fleet and transport activities.
• Coordinate maintenance for all company trucks.
• Maintain records of services, repairs and maintenance.
• Renew vehicle licences before expiry dates.
• Monitor traffic fines and follow up as needed.
• Liaise with truck drivers regarding requirements and schedules.
• Ensure trucks are clean, presentable and ready for operation.
• Coordinate truck loading according to operational needs.
• Report mechanical concerns and maintenance requirements promptly.
• Maintain vehicle files, inspection records, and licensing documentation.
• Coordinate with Sales, Production, Despatch and Management on delivery requirements.
• Follow up on outstanding repairs, licences and fines.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly fleet reports.
• Escalate risks and vehicle-availability concerns to management immediately.
