Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a reliable Field Service Technician to join our client in Port Elizabeth. The role involves traveling to customer sites to install, maintain and repair telecommunications equipment and systems, acting as the primary technical contact for clients.

The ideal candidate has a technical qualification in electronics or telecommunications, at least 3 years of field experience, strong fault-finding skills, and excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Relevant technical qualification or certification in Electronics, Telecommunications, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Field Service Technician or in a similar technical support role.
• Proficiency with installation and troubleshooting of telecommunications equipment, including PABX systems, routers, modems, and cabling.
• Strong understanding of network fundamentals and basic IT troubleshooting.
• Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record are essential for travel within the Port Elizabeth area.

• Install, configure, and commission telecommunications hardware and software at customer premises.
• Perform routine maintenance and preventative checks on installed systems to ensure optimal performance.
• Diagnose and resolve technical faults and service issues related to voice, data, and internet connectivity.
