Placements24 is seeking a Field Service Technician to install, maintain and repair telecommunications infrastructure across the Richards Bay region. You will work on-site at client sites, ensuring performance and reliability of network equipment.

The role requires hands-on hardware knowledge, ability to travel within the region, and adherence to safety standards. A technical certification in electrical engineering or telecommunications and a valid driver's license are essential.

Qualifications

• Technical qualification or certification in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Field Service Technician within telecom.
• Strong knowledge of GSM, LTE, and 5G hardware and networks.
• Ability to operate diagnostic tools and testing equipment.
• Willingness to travel within the assigned region.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and commission telecommunications equipment, including base stations, antennas, and related hardware.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance and inspections on network infrastructure.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to network connectivity and equipment malfunctions.
• Respond promptly to service calls and emergency situations to minimize downtime.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, including site reports and inventory management.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and company procedures while working on-site.
