Placements24 is seeking a Technical Support Specialist for Cape Town, offering on-site and remote technical assistance to clients. The role requires diagnosing and resolving complex issues, conducting preventative maintenance, and ensuring customer satisfaction with electromechanical systems in the Installation & Maintenance industry.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience, strong diagnostic skills, and the ability to read schematics and service manuals.

Qualifications

3+ years in technical support or field service role.
Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and software components of industrial equipment.
Ability to interpret technical diagrams, schematics, and service manuals.
Strong problem-solving aptitude and methodical approach to diagnostics.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective client interaction.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair malfunctioning equipment, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure optimal system performance and longevity.
Install and commission new systems, ensuring proper setup and functionality according to client specifications.
Maintain detailed service records, including troubleshooting steps, parts replaced, and time spent.
Provide expert technical guidance and support to clients, answering queries and offering solutions.
Stay updated with new technologies and product updates to enhance service delivery.
