Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Field Service Technician to join their Midrand, Gauteng team. The role involves installation, maintenance and repair of technical equipment at client sites, with travel required.

You will work independently or with a team to ensure high-quality workmanship and customer satisfaction. The position emphasizes a strong mechanical aptitude, practical problem-solving, and the ability to read schematics and manuals.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Field Service Technician or in a similar technical role.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record for travel to client sites.

Responsibilities

• Install equipment on site according to specifications and standards.
• Perform preventative maintenance and diagnostics.
• Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning equipment and identify root causes.
• Respond to service calls and emergency repairs promptly.
• Maintain records of service calls, repairs and parts used.
• Collaborate with technical support to resolve complex issues.
