Placements24 is seeking a proactive Field Service Technician to join a remote-capable team across South Africa. You will provide remote technical support for installations, guide on-site staff, and ensure optimized performance of systems.

You will work from a home office with reliable internet, use remote diagnostic tools, and stay updated on product changes while delivering excellent customer service and timely resolutions.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Field Service Technician or in a similar role.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems relevant to installations.
• Excellent remote communication skills, including phone, video conferencing, and chat platforms.
• Proficiency in using remote diagnostic tools and software.
• Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
• A dedicated home office setup with reliable high-speed internet connectivity.

Responsibilities

• Provide remote troubleshooting and diagnostic support for equipment and system installations.
• Guide on-site personnel through complex maintenance procedures and repairs via remote communication channels.
• Document all support interactions, resolutions, and maintenance activities accurately in the CRM system.
• Identify recurring technical issues and propose solutions or escalated them to the engineering team for review.
• Stay updated on product changes, new installation techniques, and maintenance best practices through continuous learning and team collaboration.
• Ensure client satisfaction by delivering timely and effective remote technical assistance.
