Our client is actively seeking a dedicated Remote Field Service Technician to join their distributed technical support team, servicing clients across South Africa. While based remotely, this role involves extensive travel to customer sites for installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting of telecommunications equipment. You will be the face of the company on-site, providing essential technical expertise and ensuring customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities

• Perform on-site installations, configurations, and maintenance of telecommunications equipment, including routers, switches, and wireless infrastructure.
• Diagnose and resolve complex hardware and software issues, ensuring minimal disruption to client services.
• Conduct site surveys and assessments to determine optimal equipment placement and network configuration.
• Provide technical training and support to end-users and client IT staff as needed.
• Document all service activities, findings, and resolutions accurately in the company's CRM system.
• Adhere strictly to safety protocols and company procedures while working at client locations across various regions, including potential travel to Durban and surrounding areas.

Requirements

• Diploma or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related technical field.
• 3-5 years of hands‑on experience as a field service technician, preferably within the telecoms industry.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing a wide range of telecommunications hardware and software.
• Strong understanding of network protocols and cabling standards.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and travel extensively as required.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
