About the Role

Our client, a highly-regarded establishment in Mossel Bay, Western Cape, is seeking an experienced and energetic Event and Banqueting Supervisor. This role is crucial for ensuring the flawless execution of all events, from intimate gatherings to large-scale banquets. You will lead a dedicated team, manage event logistics, and collaborate closely with clients to bring their vision to life. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for delivering exceptional service. This position offers a hybrid work arrangement, balancing on-site event management with administrative tasks. You will play a key role in shaping memorable occasions for our client's guests in the beautiful coastal setting of Mossel Bay.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the setup and execution of all banquets and events.
• Lead and train event staff, ensuring high standards of service and professionalism.
• Liaise with clients to understand their event requirements and ensure satisfaction.
• Manage event timelines, staffing schedules, and resource allocation.
• Oversee the F&B service during events, ensuring quality and presentation.
• Conduct pre-event briefings with the team and post-event debriefings.
• Ensure adherence to health, safety, and hygiene standards during events.
• Manage inventory of event supplies and linens, and assist with procurement.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during events promptly and effectively.
• Contribute to the development of event packages and service offerings.

Requirements

• Previous experience in event management, banqueting, or a supervisory role in hospitality.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
• Knowledge of event planning processes and F&B service standards.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.

• Based in or able to commute reliably to Mossel Bay, Western Cape.
