About the Role

Our client, a luxury hotel recognized for its exceptional event spaces and guest services in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga , is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Event and Banqueting Manager. This critical role is responsible for the successful planning, execution, and profitability of all banquets, conferences, weddings, and special events hosted at the property. The ideal candidate will possess outstanding organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, exceptional client management abilities, and a deep understanding of event logistics and catering operations. You will be the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring their vision is brought to life flawlessly and exceeding expectations in Nelspruit .

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of event planning and execution from initial client inquiry to post-event follow-up.
• Develop detailed event proposals, contracts, and timelines.
• Liaise closely with clients to understand their needs and preferences, ensuring their event vision is met.
• Coordinate with various hotel departments, including catering, audiovisual, housekeeping, and F&B, to ensure seamless event delivery.
• Oversee event budgets, pricing, and profitability, aiming to achieve financial targets.
• Manage the event setup and breakdown, ensuring adherence to timelines and standards.
• Conduct site inspections and client meetings.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and licensing regulations related to events.
• Maintain strong relationships with external vendors and suppliers.
• Supervise event staff during functions, providing guidance and support.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in event management, banqueting, or hospitality sales, with a strong focus on client relations.
• Proven track record of successfully planning and executing a variety of events, from small meetings to large-scale functions.
