Job summary

Delaire Graff Estate is seeking a Receptionist/Switchboard Operator to warmly welcome guests, guide them to outlets, and respond to general enquiries.

Main responsibilities include operating the switchboard, assisting with bookings, and providing information about the estate’s facilities and experiences. The role requires strong English communication, teamwork, and solid computer skills.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 education required; hospitality certificate is a plus.
• 1–2 years of reception experience preferred.
• Excellent telephone etiquette and customer-service skills.
• Fluent in English with excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Able to work in a team.
• Good computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Availability to work within hospitality operating hours (evenings, public holidays, weekends).
• Well-presented with an enthusiastic personality.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests to the estate with warmth and sincerity; respond to general enquiries.
• Engage with guests providing information about the estate, facilities, art and experiences.
• Conduct estate tours with guests.
• Operate telephone and switchboard service; refer calls to appropriate contacts.
• Compile and update data related to the area of activity.
• Distribute information around the estate; communicate lunch/dinner bookings to departments.
• Keep management informed of guest concerns.
