Placements24 is assisting a prestigious Bloemfontein law firm in recruiting an Employment Law Associate to advise on all aspects of employment law, including compliance, dispute resolution, and transactional work.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of BCEA, LRA, EEA, and related legislation, with 3+ years PQE and SA Attorney admission. The role offers opportunities for growth in a collaborative environment.

Formación

• LLB degree required.
• Admission as an Attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
• Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience in employment law.
• Strong knowledge of SA employment legislation and case law.
• Experience representing clients in employment disputes.
• Excellent drafting, analytical, and research abilities.

Responsabilidades

• Advise clients on employment law matters, including drafting contracts, policies, and procedures.
• Represent employers and employees before CCMA, Bargaining Councils, and Labour Courts.
• Manage workplace investigations, disciplinary hearings, and grievances.
• Provide support for restructurings, retrenchments, and dismissals.
• Conduct employment law training for management and HR teams.
• Ensure compliance with BCEA, LRA, EEA and related legislation.
• Assist with due diligence in mergers and acquisitions related to employment law.
• Draft and review settlement agreements.
• Stay updated on developments in employment law and case law.

About the Role Our client, a distinguished law firm in Bloemfontein, Free State, with a strong reputation for its labour and employment law practice, is seeking a dedicated Employment Law Associate. This role involves advising a broad spectrum of clients, from SMEs to larger corporations, on all aspects of employment law, including compliance, dispute resolution, and transactional work. The ideal candidate will possess a keen understanding of the BCEA, LRA, EEA, and other relevant legislation. Key Responsibilities

• Advise clients on employment law matters, including drafting employment contracts, policies, and procedures.
• Represent employers and employees in the CCMA, Bargaining Councils, and Labour Courts.
• Manage workplace investigations, disciplinary hearings, and grievances.
• Provide legal support for restructuring, retrenchments, and dismissals.
• Conduct employment law training for management and HR departments.
• Advise on compliance with legislative requirements, including the Basic Conditions of Employment Act, Labour Relations Act, and Employment Equity Act.
• Assist with due diligence exercises related to mergers and acquisitions concerning employment law aspects.
• Draft and review settlement agreements.
• Stay current with developments in employment law and relevant case law.

Requirements

• A Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree.
• Admission as an Attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
• A minimum of 3 years of post-qualification experience in employment law.
• Demonstrated knowledge of South African employment legislation and case law.
• Experience in representing clients in employment disputes.
• Strong analytical, research, and drafting skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
