Placements24 seeks an experienced Employment Lawyer to join our client’s specialist team in East London on a hybrid basis. You will advise employers on SA employment law, draft contracts, policies and handle disputes with CCMA and bargaining councils.

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Employment Lawyer to join their specialized team. This hybrid role, based in East London , offers a mix of remote flexibility and office-based collaboration. You will provide expert legal advice to employers on a wide range of employment law matters, including dispute resolution, compliance, and contract drafting. Key Responsibilities

• Advise clients on all aspects of South African employment law, including the BCEA, LRA, and EEA.
• Draft and review employment contracts, policies, and disciplinary procedures.
• Represent employers in labour disputes, including CCMA and bargaining council arbitrations.
• Provide guidance on restructuring, retrenchments, and business transfers.
• Conduct workplace investigations and advise on disciplinary processes.
• Stay abreast of legislative changes and provide proactive legal counsel.

Requirements

• Admitted Attorney with a minimum of 5 years of experience specializing in employment law.
• In-depth knowledge of South African labour legislation and case law.
• Proven experience in advising clients on workplace disputes and compliance.
• Excellent advocacy, negotiation, and drafting skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid capacity within the East London area.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
