Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Electrical Field Service Engineer to install, commission, maintain and repair complex electrical systems at customer sites in Upington and the Northern Cape. This hands-on, full-time role requires travel to client locations, strong diagnostic skills, and the ability to work independently.

A National Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and a valid driver’s license are preferred.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in field service, maintenance or installation of industrial electrical equipment.
• Ability to travel extensively within the Northern Cape and surrounding areas.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, and start-up electrical equipment and systems at customer locations.
• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and diagnostic tests on electrical machinery.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical faults and system malfunctions promptly.
• Provide technical support and training to customers on equipment operation and maintenance.
• Respond to customer service calls and ensure timely resolution of issues.
• Prepare detailed service reports, including findings, actions taken, and recommendations.
• Manage on-site project execution, ensuring adherence to schedules and quality standards.
• Communicate with engineering and sales departments regarding customer feedback and product performance.
