Placements24 is seeking an E-commerce Platform Manager to oversee our client's online store in Centurion, Gauteng. This role blends strategic leadership with hands-on technical oversight of the e-commerce platform to drive sales, speed, and customer experience.

You will manage platform operations, upgrades, integrations, analytics, and vendor relations, collaborating with IT, Marketing, Sales, and Operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in e-commerce platform management or digital product management.
• Proven experience with one or more major e-commerce platforms (e.g., Magento, Shopify Plus, BigCommerce, Salesforce Commerce Cloud).
• Strong understanding of web technologies, APIs, and system integrations.
• Proficiency in analyzing web analytics data (e.g., Google Analytics) and translating insights into actionable strategies.
• Experience with A/B testing and conversion rate optimization (CRO) methodologies.
• Excellent project management and organizational skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience managing budgets and vendor relationships.
• Knowledge of SEO principles and their application to e-commerce platforms.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the e-commerce platform (e.g., Magento, Shopify Plus, Salesforce Commerce Cloud).
• Oversee platform upgrades, integrations, and bug fixes, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (IT, Marketing, Sales, Operations) to define platform requirements and implement new features.
• Analyze website performance, user behavior, and conversion rates, identifying opportunities for optimization and A/B testing.
• Develop and execute a roadmap for platform enhancements to improve customer experience, site speed, and mobile responsiveness.
• Ensure the platform adheres to security best practices and compliance standards.
• Manage third-party vendor relationships related to the e-commerce platform.
• Monitor website analytics and provide regular reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) to senior management.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and coordinate with development teams for timely resolution.
• Stay informed about emerging e-commerce technologies and industry best practices to maintain a competitive edge.
