Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an innovative Project Manager to oversee the development of an online platform. Based in Port Elizabeth, you will lead end-to-end e-commerce projects from concept to launch and optimization, collaborating with product, development, design and marketing teams to deliver a seamless user experience.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in project management, strong stakeholder skills, and experience with Agile methods and CMS/e-commerce platforms. Hybrid work is beneficial.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Business or related field.
• 5+ years in project management with e-commerce or digital product focus.
• Experience across full lifecycle of web or mobile app projects.
• Knowledge of e-commerce tech, retail best practices, and customer journeys.
• Proficient with Jira, Confluence or Trello; Agile methods (Scrum/Kanban).
• Strong communication, leadership and stakeholder management.
• Analytical, detail-oriented, and able to work in a hybrid environment.
• Familiarity with CMS and platforms like Shopify, Magento or WooCommerce.

Responsibilities

• Define scope, goals and deliverables for e-commerce platform initiatives.
• Create detailed project plans with timelines and budgets.
• Execute project activities and ensure milestones are met.
• Lead status meetings and report to senior management.
• Identify risks and dependencies; implement mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with UX/UI, developers, QA and marketing teams.
• Ensure platform meets business needs, performance and security.
• Manage third-party vendors and deliverables.
• Oversee A/B testing and optimization to improve conversions.
• Ensure scalability and regulatory compliance of the platform.
